Charlotte, NC – September 18, 2024 – Charlotte Choir School, Charlotte’s premier choral program for children and youth, is thrilled to announce the start of its 32nd season with The Fall Concert, set to take place on October 18, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte.
This event is highly anticipated each season and will showcase the extraordinary talent of young choristers ages 7-18. The Fall Concert will feature a diverse program, celebrating the richness of choral music through various styles and compositions.
With the start of the season, Charlotte Choir School is also pleased to announce Kirstin Contreras as the new Town Choir Director. Kirstin brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to choral education. She currently teaches elementary classroom music and middle school choir at a public charter school for gifted children and provides private instrumental instruction, and coaching for students auditioning competitively. With her extensive background in vocal performance and youth choral direction, Kirstin will lead Charlotte Choir School’s youngest choir in developing their understanding of music and vocal skills.
Kirstin's dedication to nurturing young talent and her innovative approach to choral music make her an excellent fit for the Choir School program. The team is excited to welcome her and looks forward to the fresh perspectives she will bring.
The Fall Concert is a wonderful opportunity for the community to experience the talent and dedication of the Charlotte Choir School community. This event is open to the public, and welcomes all to join for an evening of beautiful music and celebration.
