A Night of Music and Generosity: Serenade Gala 2026

Staff member, Hunter Rigsby

This year’s Serenade Gala was a truly special evening filled with music, community, and gratitude as supporters gathered to celebrate the mission of Charlotte Choir School. The night highlighted the powerful role music plays in shaping young lives and brought together friends, families, and supporters who believe deeply in the impact of choral education.

Guests began the evening with a festive cocktail hour featuring butler-passed hors d’oeuvres as they mingled and explored the silent auction. Attendees had the opportunity to bid on unique experiences and gifts while directly supporting Charlotte Choir School’s mission. The evening was graciously emceed by Rob and Laurie Burlington, who guided guests through the program and helped create a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

The highlight of the evening was a beautiful performance by the MasterSingers under the direction of Artistic Director Elizabeth Lenti. The ensemble performed a thoughtful and varied program including The Sun Never Says by Dan Forrest, A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square arranged by Jim Clements, and The Song That Goes Like This by Eric Idle and John Du Prez. Their voices filled the room with energy and artistry, demonstrating the dedication, musical excellence, and joy that define Charlotte Choir School.

Following the performance, guests enjoyed a seated dinner featuring a selection of entrées and a dessert bar featuring cupcakes from Suárez Bakery.

Throughout the night, the live auction and paddle raise gave supporters the opportunity to make an even greater impact. Funds raised during the paddle raise directly support essential programmatic expenses at Charlotte Choir School, including instructional costs, music materials, tours, and other program experiences that ensure students receive an enriching musical education.

The success of Serenade would not have been possible without the generosity of our table sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, and community partners. Their support helps make Charlotte Choir School’s mission possible: strengthening young lives through excellent, rigorous music education and choral performance.

As the evening came to a close, guests reflected on the vibrant community that makes Charlotte Choir School so special. Because of the continued generosity of supporters, the Choir School remains a place where young people discover their voices, build confidence, develop friendships, and experience the joy of making music together.

Serenade 2026 once again reminded us how music has the power to bring people together and transform lives.

We look forward to celebrating again next year.

Special thank you to our event photographer,
